My brand new Mercedes Sprinter conversion van's license plate was $25 because of being an RV. The guy at the DMV was surprised by that. LFDR3116 Posted April 5, 2017 Report Share Posted April 5, 2017 If you have facilities in it and re-title it as a class b, in most cases the insurance is cheaper. It will also then cover the built-in living/rv items that may otherwise not be covered. Check with the DMV to see exactly what the requirements are to qualify as a class B, then check with your insurance agent regarding coverage under your standard auto policy vs an rv policy.
