IM looking for BLM sites on HY 54 in NM. Would appreciate GPS Co-ordinates for locations that can handle a 40' rig....

Still seeing Places we have never seen before and others that we thought we would never see again!

The Three Rivers Recreation Area is a few miles North of Alamogordo. The Valley of Fires Recreation Area is near Carrizozo. Both have developed campgrounds. Not sure about dispersed camping. My links to the BLM sites are not working so you will have to do a search or contact the local office for the rules for the area. It is my understanding that there is public access and free dry camping at a lake on Holloman AFB. Never been there. The local winery in Tularosa was in the Harvest Hosts program a couple of years ago when we were there. The Lincoln and Cibola National Forests are adjacent to US-54 in the higher elevations around Cloudcroft, Ruidoso, Capitan, etc. Road conditions can be an issue in accessing National Forrest dispersed camping areas. You will need to check the Motor Vehicle Use Maps or contact the Local Ranger District as the rules for dispersed vehicle camping can change every year.

freecampsites.net also has many boondocking locations and it's free.  Once you create your account and log in, some of the locations will have photos which answer many questions.  Some reviews do give a lot of information, others not.   You can also post new places or give reviews.  If you are not logged in, you cannot see photos if they are in the review.
