New since last visit

Recommended Posts

Is there some way to set this thing for "New since last visit" ? I see the sort boxes, and "supposedly" set it for that and "saved" . Does not work, every time on I have to set it, doesn't hold like the GOOD OLD SITE did.

The Missing Manual topic covers this.

Line 1 - ends with just the return (enter) key.

Line 2 - ends with shift-return (shift-enter) key combination.
Line 3

Unfortunately I don't have the time, or the desire, to study a manual to learn how to navigate a retrograde forum "improvement" I just don't visit as often as I used to!

I may be missing something, but when I'm done reading the site on any given day, I click on the "mark site read" in the upper right hand corner. Next time I come to the site, everything I see should have been written after my last visit. Isn't that the same as "New since last visit?"

Yes, you have to tell the system to consider everything read or it will only mark those threads that you actually looked at.   Of course, if you looked at everything that was on your stream, then there would be no need to check the Mark site read button, but I would expect that most of us will have some threads in the subsections we don't read each day, or don't read after a while because are not interested in them, so we just click "Mark site read" button as we leave.
