During our side window install, (not thinking) we let the seat belts fully retract.

Is there any way to get them to release ?

Did a few google searches but nothing we found has been any help.

They're the regular retractor, locking activated by a pendulum. loosen the mounting bolt and slowly move it around, while trying to pull the belt out. Don't pull on the belt continuously, more of a "try-release, try-release". When the pendulum swings the right way, the release will ... release.

I have been wrong before, I'll probably be wrong again.

You may have to totally remove the recoil from its location to rotate it in different directions, then continue with Darryl&Rita's technique.

I've had this happen to me before with different vehicles.

As was mentioned, there is a pendulum mechanism with a little weight on it, the braking action causes it to swing everso slightly allowing the belt to move freely except under braking. In older vehicles, it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that some debris has gotten down in the mechanism and "gummed up the works" From a safety standpoint it would probably be wise to remove the assembly and inspect them. I am sure you will find the problem.

Thanks for all the tips.  Problem solved.

I secured the lower portion of the seat belts to there original positions, gave them a good yank and they started working.

Re-installed the top and am good to go!

Just getting to my seat belts took the truck to body shop to cut and install windows . Ran into a few issue's. 1 being worker took way to long and took some sick days. 2 rubber that came with windows would not work did not support was way to loose. Had to re cut a little and use new rubber looks great will post pics soon. Still need to reinforce inside of cab and reinstall interior and insulate.
