Big Bend State Park?

Recommended Posts

Big Bend State Park or Big Bend National Park?

Long term--Neither.

BB NP has full hookups with I think a 2 week limit at the Rio Grande Village area.

BB SP has a 20+ mile gravel access road with very limited dry camping spots for bigger rigs.  NO hookups at all in the SP

Outside the park there are RV Parks with monthly rates.

We loved staying at Stillwell, a real hoot, and so quiet that our cats OVERSLEPT.  We did day trips from there and saw a great deal of the park - though you never see it all in one trip.  They had free wifi when we were there (which is great since there is no cell service) and obviously no problem with the satellite dish.:D

Big Bend Resort and Adventures is another option for longer term.  Its in Study Butte, and is good access to the park.

and there is decent cell service.

We stayed here several years ago and it worked out great for visiting both the National and State Parks.
