Verizon got me to go Android

Ends Sunday!

Well,

I am really disappointed with Microsoft giving up on the Windows 10 mobile phones. And no, I won't go back for a $1000.00 plus Windows portable Surface phones. (I already have a Surface Pro 3 and a Venue 11 Pro for tablets as well as the Amazon Fire HDX Tablets we have as Kindle replacements. Amazon Prime also make downloading one movie at a time for offline viewing easy and free. I prefer the 2560×1600 resolution to the new fire tablets but the new ones have SD card slots and are under $100.00. I was just playing and bought a couple of HDX 7" used like new for us as Kindle replacements for about $45 and $50 (64GB) each, and then an 8.9" fourth gen HDX 32 GB cheap with an Otterbox and nice thin case. I do not like the Otterbox, way too heavy. I got Origami Amazon cases for them for $4.95 and $7.99 on clearance.)

To add insult to injury they also shot themselves in the foot by making the last Lumia "flagship" phones GSM only! No new Verizon CDMA Windows 10 phones at all now!

So in order to stay with Verizon and get faster charging and the latest in processor and screen we ordered Motorola Moto Z Play Droids free! Direct from Verizon.

The free phone deal we got is here: https://www.verizonwireless.com/smartphones/moto-z-play-droid/ click on the "Get this phone for free. Ends Sunday" link at the top right of the description.

While we do not think we will be buying any of the mods, we like the price and bang for the buck. However they are also offering buy one mod get the second free so maybe we will get the battery extender back. I just bought a 128GB SD card last week for my Windows phones and have not installed them yet so will just load up some of our music and some movies on them and use them in the Droids.

They also offer the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Pixel phone and the newer Moto Z Droid for just 10 bucks a month/24 months and no new contract needed. https://www.verizonwireless.com/deals-landing/

Yes I am eating my words that I will never get an android phone because of Google policies on lack of privacy Jack! ;) But we are keeping our Verizon Lumia 735 phones for a bit and can switch back and sell the Androids if we find we do not like them, and continue the free plan. THat waterproof Samsung sure looked good. I already tried the iPhone and returned both. I can do the same here but I doubt it because I do not have to load proprietary Android programs on my Windows desktop and they have SD card slots.

If you want any of those phones now is the time for 10 bucks for 24 months or nothing a month for 24 months, like the one we got.

The way i look at it. they all have our info in one form or another. Best is to just try to keep it at a min as possible. RV i got that text from verizon. As i live on an island Verizon is only real reliable carrier around. others work but not all over the island. While ago i saw the phone i fell in love with, then week before i was going to get it , was when they started to blow up. catch fire. Stil thinking of which phone to get next. Android of course.
