I've been Beta-testing the new GoAC for the past couple of months and it's pretty impressive. My laptop routinely sees >80% of the speed of the connection going through the WFR and that's with both the 5GHz and 2.4GHz broadcasts operating. If I didn't need the 2.4GHz broadcast I've measured throughputs in excess of 90%.

That's funny. I was just looking at their site today to see the "shop" completely cleared out and a notice saying something like.. check back on Wednesday for a special announcement.

Looks like the main issue I had is not gone. I just didn't want to run 2.4GHz inside the coach but just for the connection to the Internet. Now when the time comes I'll be able to run 5GHz only inside the coach.

Correct! With a device like the GoAC you have your choice connecting to a wifi access point with either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz and your internal network can run on either frequency or both. I'm using both frequencies inside my RV because I have a number of 2.4 GHz-only devices.
