Camping World's IPO

Shares of Camping World Holdings (NYSE: CWH) rose more than 3 percent Friday, their first day of trading.

The recreational vehicle dealership's stock traded at around $23 Friday on the New York Stock Exchange, opening at $23.75 after pricing at $22 a share, the middle of the expected range of $21 to $23.

With 11.4 million shares, the initial public offering raised $251 million. Camping World's chairman and CEO, Marcus Lemonis, told CNBC's "Squawk on the Street" on Friday that the IPO proceeds will be used to reduce the company's debt — since debt is one of the things he hates most.

Did they not borrow money from Airstream a while ago?

c u on the road

You're probably thinking of the two $10 million loans that Airstream parent Thor made to Camping World/Freedom Roads back in 2009. In both cases, the loans were earmarked for buying Thor products. The first loan had a 5-year payback while the second had a 1-year payback. These days, with over 3 billion in revenue and record profits, that's a drop in the CW bucket.

They just took over Southern RV, the biggest and most modern of the three main RV dealers and repair places in Bossier City/Shreveport area. Southern had four locations. I know and respect Jim Hicks.
