Toni, the motorhome magazine publishes a section every year with the new vehicles able to be towed 4 down.  They used to have an archive for prior years too.

http://www.motorhome.com/top-stories/top-towables-for-2017/  Looks like most of the people in this park (that are towing 4 down) are pulling small trucks or Jeeps. There is one Honda CRV, but you can't tow the new Hondas 4 down.  I think 2014 was the last year.   Our Dodge Dakota crew cab has been a good one (driven 118K miles and towed about 40K) with decent space inside.  You might check out "Ready Brute" towing systems too.  We have M&G braking system and Roadmaster sterling hitch.  The baseplate for the front of the truck is Blue OX which is a good company.  Sometimes it's better to use a small truck, as you can carry all of your outside stuff in the back.  Firewood, grills, outboard motors, etc:   Good luck

Thanks Steve.  We appreciate that.  We sure are taken by the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport but we are looking to buy something 4 - 5 years old.  And not white.

But not black either; those get really hot inside! Dirt brown or rock gray appear to be best. :)

What, now that is just wrong.  After all White Cars Matter to.:P

This "Shake Down" outing with the MH just came to an end a day early.  Got woke up about 5am to one heck of a racket.  Quickly tracked it down the the Fan Motor on the front heater.  So am trying to make do with just the back heater till it's late enough to get hooked up and leave.  Trip started out bad though.  As I was setting up I discovered that the Water Pump had died.  Now a furnace, going to end up as an expensive start to the season.:(

Joe -  Anymore we fill the tank and run off the pump all the time. Much better pressure.

Made a big move today maybe 6 miles. We need to stay in the area for another month for doctor appointments. Got my race car running yesterday, boy it sounds good. It's been 4 years since I've heard it run. Lots of other things to do to get ready for the summer. One things is new tires for the motorcycle and I've bought batteries for the race car, generator, motorcycle and the break away for the trailer. Last April my enclosed car trailer and motorcycle trailer both got beat up by hail. Waiting for the insurance adjuster to come look at both of them. Will get them fixed later don't have time before we need to get on the road again. Lovely.

Travel safe everyone.

Hey Jeff,

That is what I normally do.  I filled the tank with RO water before I left, but didn't check the pump.  So ended up using the campgrounds water, which isn't bad.  Now to get the pump replaced and then will work on the heating unit.  Since no plans to use the MH till July, no big hurry on the heater.

Glad to hear your having fun with your toys.

We also normally filled our water tank and ran off it. Until one campground where we heard a very close neighbor say, "I hope we don't have to listen to that all the time." In that park we ran off city water so they wouldn't have to listen to our pump. Being neighborly counts.

Come on folks. It's late Wednesday and no one has posted since Friday. Let's not let a whole week go by without talking to one another.

Nothing much happening here. Another doctor appointment with another adjustment to my meds. We will get it right one of these days. I hope.

A visit to the vets office about 2 weeks ago we found out that our Cali had a broken tooth again. She got it pulled last Friday and she also had a broken tooth last year. Levi the cat got a rabies shot and he's doing great for a 17 year old cat. Doesn't look a day over 9. LOL.

Here is some real news. We've decided to have a house built on our land near Canyon Lake, Texas. They are going to slow roll the process early so we can still travel this summer and be back in the fall to watch it being built. Probably won't make it to Q next year.

Our news.  Well we got our little car and we love it. We bought a 2014 Nissan Versa Note.  It's dark grey and has lots of bells and whistles.  I haven't been driving much over the past few years so I have to regain my confidence especially because I am going to have to drive it to Merritt on my own on Sunday or Monday.

Thanks to Jeri, we know that we have to tow it wheels up and Doug is quite happy about that.  We will tow it all four up.

So for now, we will have the truck, the fifth wheel and the car.  We will be searching for the motor home of our dreams during side trips from the park.  If we find a much better price on-line, in the states, we will fly down and pick it up and drive it back.

I would like to say congratulations on your house Tina and Jeff.  Good for you.  Not for us but good for you.

Thanks Steve.  Yes, a little late.  We really are enjoying our little car.  With the exchange this unit would have been $24,000.  We paid just under $15,000 for a 2014.

We are in a place we don't like much.  It's called L I M B O.  We are trying to do things to make the transition from 5th wheel to motorhome easier but there not really much we can do.  We are looking for the car trailer and we will get the hitch put on the little car this week.

We were fortunate when Dave's father died in having Dave's sister as executor. She moved things right along. I have no idea what is happening with my father's estate but since his wife is still living I don't expect to get anything from it. So technically we are in limbo also but not having any expectations makes waiting MUCH easier. I hope things move along quickly now for you.
