  1. I for one have had an excellent experience with Banks and proudly display their logo right under the F550 badges on the side of my truck. I elected to only have them install the exhaust brake and for that I will be forever grateful. Of course I w as only about an hour from Azusa, Ca where they did my install while I waited. With the exhaust brake I can now decend hills comfortably pulling my 20,000 # trailer.
  2. Was it always like this or did this problem just start ?
  3. I find it unbelievable, but apparently so, that no one addressed the posters question. If I were in good health, I would be one to be asking more questions. I think I would want to have a flexible departure date from maybe, lets say, Rocky Point. Not knowing what to expect, only what I've heard, i think i would like to stay a month or longer and decide as the days go on. I'm a lover of South of the Border (not the business) and the culture but was always considering the safety there. Anytime I see a guard outside a business, like a bank building with an assault rifle slung over their shoulder it gives me reason to question safety. My DW wanted to go for years but I was reluctant and now when its no longer possible I regret my decision.
  4. I cringe at the thought of talking to Direct. I had them for many, many years but toward the end for a couple years it was just not fun anymore talking to them. We we left a region I had to call them to change locations so i could get local channels. First thing I did when we left fulltiming was to switch to Dish Network. I'm more than happy with Dish. Dish is far superior with their equipment and services. After the first 2 years I recieved my first " non discounted " bill. I called and they switched me back to my original monthly billing for another 2 years after signing up for another 2 years with them. Hate Direct and love Dish Network.
  5. Believe me, I know, hire someone else to do the job.
  6. For those that might be interested New Mexico just legalized pot sales in April of this year. The first month sales were $39 million with a tax revenue to the state of $2.4 million. Last month, July, sales were about the same. If this continues, that equates to $28,800,000 in new tax collected for the state. Thats right, almost 29 million dollars.
  7. I did the same as you and got a good deal on a dome. Then searched for the best price on a receiver with remote. Bought a 50ft cable to connect and called Dish to set up. Phone Number came with the Wally and was surprised how little the extra cost was with my existing account. Extremely easy to use and should have done it years ago instead of fighting with my metal dish on a tripod. Only problem I found is with the dome I got only one TV can be hooked up to it, Our second TV now uses the antenna on the roof for stations available.
  8. Since you are planning on taking the trailer with you right after the Pre Delivery Inspection what are you going to do if something doesn't work, like maybe the water heater or the water pump, etc. Make sure everything works, everything. Take your time , this should take hours. They will want to rush this but dont let them. You're the boss right now. I would have told them that you expect NO rust on this trailer before the PDI. Let them take care of it now before you pick it up. Like others have said, once you leave their lot you will be very lucky for any action on ANYTHING thereafter, When i saw the rust in your pictures I can see your concern. Something isnt quite right.
  9. Maybe these washers and dryers are powered by Tesla Batteries and RV's stock price will go up and up and up.....I for one will be glad when there is more of a choice for EV's.
  10. The roadway repair revenue will have to come from somewhere and the electric car market will certainly be involved.
  11. Sorry, I can't remember the name of the sofa but it was purchased at American Home Furniture in Albuquerque. It is also long enough that I can lay right out on it without having to scrunch up. It fits window to window across the back with about 3" on both sides. The slide outs do touch the front edge of the leather but not enough to matter.
  12. To the original poster.....I do not understand why you would even embrace the issue if you had "no exhaust leaks whatsoever".
  13. When time came to replace our sofa we had a heck of a time finding one that would fit in the rear of the 5th wheel due to the slide outs coming in from both sides. In fact we only found one in the city of Albuquerque and we looked at many with a tape measure in hand. When removing the old sleeper sofa we removed the metal bed part inside first and it made it much easier to get it out the door. Campground worker wanted the old one so he helped get it out. It would have been impossible to get old out and new in if we wouldn't have brought the door side slide out in about a foot at the exact time to squeeze it though the doorway.
  14. In almost all cases the storage has the 751 key but all RV entry doors, the doors where you walk in the RV will always have a different key. OTHERWISE if everyone had the same key why would you even need the locks. At one time I was going to replace my CH751 locks on the storage compartments but all a burglar would need is a big screwdriver to pop the doors open. If your one compartment has a different lock all you need to do is buy a 751 lock for that door. They're cheap.
  15. I was always under the understanding 100 degrees plus the outside ambient air temp.
  16. I'm on my second set of Coopers on my Jeep and happy with them. I run Continental's on my F550 and they have served us well. Goodyear H tires on my 5er are like the day they were made. I only buy USA made tires.
  17. Go if you are physically and mentally able and never stop until your body or mind tells you to. I won't bore everyone with my story but as days progress I am sad to say my RV days are over. We had the RV out 2 times last year for 2 weeks each and glad we did, my wife was a lifesaver as far as getting us set up and then ready to travel again. You will never know how many RV days are left while on your journey through life so make every trip count, you'll have the memories of the better days as you sit in your easy chair. I'm only 72 and my wife will be 80 in August, she would start fulltiming again tomorrow morning if that would give her time to pack her clothes. Never say Never.
  18. I'd like to put in my 2 cents worth if it's even worth the 2 cents. Lippert builds frames to the specs provided from the manufactures. The mfg is what designs the weak cheaper frames. They prefer to put their $$$ on the "glitz" instead of the invisible, like the frame. One should also be worried about the mfg putting the cheapest tires they can find on their rigs. What are they thinking. The tire is the first most important part of your rig. Second, of course is the frame. My RVing days are over now and it just scares the hell out of me to watch the travel trailers and 5'ers passing me at 75 or 85+ MPH with tires rated with a max speed of 65.
  19. I have been using the VA for 17 years now and I am well pleased. I also have Humana Medicare Advantage but I choose the VA for my complete healthcare. I'm 30 minutes from the Albuquerque VA but I have also used the VA in Loma LInda, Ca when we wintered in SoCa. I'm also registered with the VA in Tucson. If you choose the VA, it's best to register in the one or ones you plan to use. Hope this helps.
  20. Had the same problem. Planned on replacing the TC. Disconnected the nuts but the TC was secured to the back of the oven. I planned to attach the new one to the old one and pull it through into position but could not. This meant that I had to completely remove the oven to replace the TC. The oven was a POS since day one and I figured if I had to remove it then it was going to be replaced with one with a spark ignition for the oven. It was a real PITA to crawl on the floor to light the old one. I searched and only found one, a Furrion , with a spark ignitor for the pilot. No more on the floor to light the pilot,
  21. We have a Avanti in the storage bay of our 5th wheel and it served us well for years and years. i do not know how well it would do without power for DAYS. We always have power at the end of travel days.
  22. I'm also following. 6 months down the road and hopefully we'll see some photos.
