  1. I am on the side of driving lessons also. We have a 39' towed by a Volvo. Total length 64'. Going to a two month truck driving school was the best investment I made. In addition to the comfort level you will save the cost of repairs to truck and RV for on the job learning. Did I mention less stress!!! Have fun.
  2. Thanks, Suite. Like Hone Eagle said "stuff happens" it's part of the lifestyle. I knew about claims on homeowners and auto insurance and only used those for MAJOR loses, never thought about it for roadside assistance. Learned a lesson. Maybe my experience will help someone else.
  3. Roger, because I am not a mechanic I had Gregg repair/replace ANYTHING that was slightly suspect. He was VERY thorough. I have a CDL and I do a complete pre trip before each move. Only one of the service calls might have been avoided in hindsight. Thanks for the suggestions.
  4. Cracked coolant reservoir lost coolant Montana, blew radiator hose White Bird Pass, tire problem, battery dead, misdiagnosed so second no start. I'm not a mechanic so each resulted in call to roadside assistance. CLUE ouch!! Is that forever, or like timeout till I learn my lesson?
  5. I just received notification that I have been dropped by Good Sams roadside assistance. We had a tough year several tows! Any suggestions on who to go with?
  6. Roger, we just made the trip down 101. We cut across on highway 20 just south of Willits Ca. Stayed in Nice @ Aurora RV. I WOULD NOT attempt to cross on any roads north of highway 20.
  7. Roger, looks awesome! Can we get details? Who did the hitch /cost? Who did the wrap/ cost?
  8. We bought a set never plan to use them. In some mountain passes you are required to carry them. $100 to not worry if I get asked if I have chains....yep.
  9. Gord, will the new package with 2 antennas be the Max amp mobile rv kit? I have been looking at both options but need the larger power for my rv along with the ability to use amp in my tow vehicle?
  10. Jim, I am having a corrosion issue on my doors also. I was told that it had to perforate thru the door to be covered. Is that true? I have checked and I have the 96 month 1,000,000 coverage.
  11. I am wondering if it is possible to use the 4G-X OTR in my Volvo with a wireless router or mobile hot spot so I would also be able to use it in my 5th wheel. I realize my truck would need to be parked in close proximity to my RV. I am wanting to have the signal gain while driving as well as in my RV when parked.

  13. Rocky, sorry to hear about your problem. We are praying with ya'll for Gods plan and will as you go forward. Please keep us informed as things develop. This did not take the Lord by surprise....he has the answer.
  14. When I insured with Blue Sky in 2014 they insured our fiver for over 150,000. and our truck for way over 40k. Maybe something has changed.
  15. Thanks for all the replies. Capt. Joe I am leaning towards the Nikon Monarch 8X42 and will go find a store to really test out several brands before committing, and was just on the Cabelas website looking at the harness. Thanks ya'll for getting me on the right path!
