  1. A little trivia. Subaru is bring back the Baha. Would be nice if it was hybrid and plug in.๐Ÿ‘
  2. Thanks... Amazon has it, the Xantrex model. But very pricey at $139. Sorry to hear on his passing. The Trim-L-Start was a very popular item on the Born Free Forum, and even added on at the Born Free Factory new models when they were still in business. Ebay has it, but more money. What is your opinion on whether this is a "must have" item for my Class C?
  3. I have one of these installed on my RV. Just wondering if they are still made? If not, what takes it place? I think mine is still working? But, It no longer lights up. I think the tie between my engine battery and house batteries seems to still work? But Not sure? Thanks.
  4. Thanks for the input. I found this: "Ford has reportedly patented a way to charge electric vehicles by flat towing them. The patent refers to how an EV can be charged while being towed behind another vehicle. The patent application was filed in December 2020 and published in July 2021. You can read more on that patent here." So it like a matter of time? Maybe
  5. Thanks Kirk and GH, I imagine the same thing would apply to my 100% EV. Do you Think sometime in the future and redesign of EVs/ hybrids would make this all at least possible? Can you imagine the possibilities?๐Ÿ˜ƒ
  6. What my EV battery looks like. 66Kwh. And to be able to hook it up to my Motorhome....WOW! Hopefully they will find a way in the future?? Weights 960 pound.
  7. I was thinking the same thing. I have a Chevy Bolt EV and its has regenerative braking. Would be neat if I could tow it and charge the EV battery at the same time. Also to be able to connect my MH electrical usage up the car EV battery. I imagine all this will be reality sometime in the future.
  8. I agree with Allison. A Lab. # 2 dog in the nation. Great disposition.
  9. Thanks.... for the info about more vehicles. I saw the Ford Maverick on Facebook. He had pictures of towing hookup and info he had towed it flat.
  10. I just read this. The new Ford Maverick Hybrid Pickup can be towed all 4 down. And that NO other Hybrid Vehicle can be towed 4 down. Is this true? Thanks. Plus the Maverick can be FWD or AWD.
  11. Thanks. I am thinking about maybe buying stock. I have a Chevy Bolt EV and really like it. And understand the US gov will offer the $7500 tax credit again for various EV's, including the BOLT. Plus my State has $2500 cash rebate = total $10,000 off.
  12. https://www.motor1.com/news/528934/camelot-cruiser-motorhome-for-sale/?fbclid=IwAR01HO0tis8HoTSvQ3aqXNSHfYrs8qer05rJ0fHh7bz82g8pJbuOZKnlXAk Not sure if anyone has posted this before. Link works for bidding site. Not sure if still for sale. No reserve.
  13. I read on the internet where Rivian EV pickup is going to be able to be towed 4 down, and charge the EV battery while being towed. Not presently, but in the future. Regarding my example of my 60 mile FREE drive in my EV, that does not take into account it is NOT a round trip. I frequently drive 60 miles A to B and then back home 60 miles B to A. The FREE part of the trip is B to A. The elevation of B is greater in elevation than A. Confusing?? Overall, I do use energy from my battery on the 120 mile trip. The cost of my electricity at my home is 12 cents/ KWH and used to charge my EV. My EV gets about 4 1/2 mies/ KWH. So driving... cost me less than 5 cents a mile. So my 120 mile trip costs me less than $6 in electric.
  14. Kirk, guess I stand corrected and didn't read it close enough. Thanks. But an EV can generate power back to the battery by coasting. I own a 2019 Chevy Bolt EV. When I coast... no brake, no foot on the "gas" peddle, I generated power back to my EV battery. 99% of the time I never use my brake peddle. I have a "paddle" on the steering wheel that is a regenerative brake. When I come to a stop sign/ red light I use this "paddle" to come to a complete stop. When I am in the mountains and going downhill, I use ther "paddle" to slow me down and that generates power back. There is a 60 mile road I frequently drive. 20/30 times a year. I actually able to drive it for FREE. Simplified... I go up the mountain using energy from the battery and then coast down the other side using the "paddle", generating power back into the battery. Net result is almost ZERO ENERGY every time when I pull into my driveway.
  15. Found the link on this trailer. https://www.motor1.com/news/611307/teardrop-camper-trailer-made-for-evs/
  16. I recently saw, new to the EV field: a small teardrop style trailer, that generated power back to the house batteries from the wheels rolling down the road when you towed it. Can't remember the brand name. Was $45K.
  17. https://apnews.com/article/az-state-wire-canada-mesa-arizona-technology-684102aa931ad947b1c209bb5714fd5c Price $18.5k and range 100 miles.
  18. It will have a 67 kWh battery. 126 mile range. Rear wheel drive. Starts at about $45k.
  19. I have lived in Oregon for the past 4 years. In Jackson County (Medford, OR area) Nothing has change since the covid. They still pump my gas. Just everyone is wearing a mask. You do exchange credit card, money, etc., hand to hand. No precautions are taken. Nobody wears gloves. Not sure of the other counties in Oregon, regarding self pumping of gas. My main place to get Gas is Costco. Interesting... My Costco has a newly installed do it yourself "air" stall in the parking lot. Just by the honor system. No proof of membership. The air pumps nitrogen, just like in the building.
  20. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2022-hyundai-santa-cruz-first-look-review-2/?wc_mid=4035:21182&wc_rid=4035:128166&_wcsid=6551667B08368EB12E39377C1D9156F2134F40D886B034B6 Wonder if it can be towed all 4 down?
  21. Interesting. I have an all electric Chevy Bolt. Anybody else have an electric vehicle? As a toad? Next year, Chevy is coming out with the Silverado All Electric PU. 400 mile range. Thanks.
  22. Yes, the Chinook "name" is still around. They make a sprinter model only, not anywhere close to the original. Not sure about history of this company and how it is associated with the original company. The Lazy Daze sold yesterday for $31,100.
  23. Another small motorhome that sells for a premium and is in high demand is the Chinook. They are a Class B. Here on the west coast I see quite a few still on the road. Last manufactured in 2005 I think.
  24. Because it's funky. Low miles. And short and cute. And Lazy Daze has a strong "cult" following.
