  1. What percent of volunteer's would still volunteer if they had to pay for their camping site & electric? It's wonderful that so many here love to volunteer and help. Nothing wrong with that. The wages I posted was to show how much volunteer's was giving back over the regular campers paying for their site. Sorry I didn't mean for everyone to get their panties in a wade.
  2. The current federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. 24 hours a week is $174 or $696 a month. 32 hours a week is $232 or $928 a month 24 hours per couple each is $348 or $1,392 a month Walmart & McDonald's pay much more per hour.
  3. I haven't ever put it on vacation since I got DirecTV in the 90's. But I have watched some recording when the Trav'ler was not working with a bad LNB before I replaced it. And another time when under trees and couldn't get the dish to lock on. It did take a while to get it through the reboot and the warning that there was no signal or no communication with the dish. But somehow I finally got to see the recordings. I don't remember now if I went through the menu different settings to see the recordings or what I did. I have done a little research on doing it and found if you are going to cancel the service off for good or take the card out of the receiver. You may have a few days to see the recordings if you unhook the dish cable before you call them to have it shut off. On vacation may be like when installing a new receiver before it is authorized they are a couple channel's you can see. When I put it on vacation the dish will be up and locked on the satellites and I won't be moving it to a different location. If I can't see the recordings they will still be there after it is taken off vacation and I have saved up to $450. It will be next Nov. before I find out. And I probably will do more research on it.
  4. Ever since I got both coast of DNS many years ago. I have never had local and they have given me a $3 off a month. I have no S&B only the MH. For local stations my OTA Batwing has always picked up something no matter where I was parked. The receivers on the TV's pick up more then the add on AM receiver to the Genie as it seems to have a much weaker OTA receiver. At my winter spot the Batwing picks up over 30 stations. Since DirecTV keeps adding on more fees every year and monthly bill has now gone up to $154.53 Next winter I'm going to put DTV on vacation for 2-3 months(after NASCAR final) and watch some of the 30 locals plus the many, many hours of recorded movies I have on the Genie that I never have time to watch. For the OP here are the many local OTA for Kansas City
  5. A stock Model 3 5.1 - 5.6 sec 0-60 mph Model S 2.5 - 4.2 sec 0-60 mph
  6. After 19 years my Gel coat has faded from a white to a cream color and vinyl striping has started to peal and fade. To be honest I have only waxed it 2-3 times in the 15 years I have owned it. I wouln't want to wax a paint job every year to keep it up. Really don't know how long a full paint job would last now waxing it.
  7. Don't forget to sign up for a 90 day alert. You can do it every 90 days. Below is what it gives you. You only need to sign up with one of them. A temporary fraud alert has been successfully added to your credit report. This alert is scheduled to remain on your credit report until . Print this information for your records. As an additional precaution, we have removed your name and address from prescreened offer mailing lists for two years. As a convenience to you and to further protect your credit information, we shared your request with the other nationwide consumer credit reporting companies, Equifax and TransUnion, and you should receive confirmation directly from them. For more information on fraud alerts and how you can protect yourself, please visit experian.com/fraud.
  8. I got signed up on 9/12 for the year of FREE monitoring. I'm pretty sure they already knew the other 3 numbers of my SS number. The sign up site is a https:// site. No different then any of my several bank account sites I go to. I get a text within 15 minutes or less of any charges/withdraws/deposits to my 3 CC, 2 Debit cards, 4 CK & MM accounts. Or any changes done to any of my CD's. I forgot to add. I have been putting a "Fraud Alert" on all 3 credit bureaus every 90 days for almost 2 years now. Started that after someone tried to get a couple CC in my name. 1st one they screwed up and had it sent to my home address.
  9. I am glad you like that kind of Full time life. But it is not for me. I don't want to sit at a Wally World parking lot for 15-17 hours a day. That is how long I spend at overnight campgrounds and at destinations I use electric 24/7. I don't have to carry around all the extra weight of solar panels and need to buy expensive batteries. That by your post will last forever and never need replaced. solar and batteries are free. I can only get my T-105 6V batteries to last around 7 years 6 months on average and then need to replace them for $$$, not free. I need electric to run my refrigerator, stand alone Freezer, stand alone Ice Maker, Both AC(Like to keep RV temps between 73-78º 24/7) with one being a heat pump also, 2 small space heaters, my 55", 26", 24", 20" and 10" TV, Genie DTV receiver, surround sound stereo system, 2 desktop & 2 laptops, charge my iPhone plus 2 iPads, keep my hotspot working, weBoost, WiFiRanger running, hair dryer, convection/microwave(use it a lot), water heater, and other items that use electric. Yep!! I am a electric hog. I don't think my roof it big enough to hold enough solar panels to keep enough batteries charged(which I have no place to put them) to run all my devices. By the way I just checked my Quicken for 2016 my average per night/day for Full Time hooks ups came out to $4.48 a day for the 12 months. 2015 it was $4.15 way back in 2003 it was $5.15 My LPG bill every year has averaged $51.96 a year for the last 11 years and includes use(mostly exercising) of my LPG 6.5W generator. You enjoy your solar & I will enjoy my electric.
  10. My MH is 30AMP but 50AMP is included in price, NO pets on board, Ihave my own Trav'ler using DirecTV, I have my own Internet hotspot and can use either Mobley AT&T or Sprint hotspot. So no extras needed. I only plug into electric no water or sewer needed. If spot is level then I don't even put my jacks down and never put slideout out for a 1 night stay. Makes for a quick get away the next morning, especially if it happens to be raining. Travel Dates: Tuesday, September XX, 2017 - Wednesday, September XX, 2017 (1 night) Details: 1 Adults, Motorhome towing35 ft. Slideouts, No Pets Your Campsite: Pull-thru, Water/Electric, 50/30 amp, Cable, WiFi Roomy pull thru sites for those not needing full hook-ups! Reserve now! 11. I haven't stayed at a KOA for over 7-8 years. But I just made a reservation on line at one in September on my way back home. I usually stay at a Good Sam campground around 20 miles from this KOA on way North and way back every year for over 16 years. This last spring the GS campground raised their rates with even my 10% discount to $40.20 a night. This KOA without any discount will cost $36.38. If OK I change my yearly 2 stops in that area to this KOA. The other 3 travel nights will be at PA campgrounds at less then $21.75 a night.
  12. Maybe the military campgrounds should let anyone with a American Legion or VFW card use them.
  13. I have used the Nature Pure system for over 18 + years for drinking, cooking and Ice maker from shore water or from the fresh water tank that I have never sanitized. Nature Pure systems are independently documented to meet EPA guide standard protocol for microbiological purifiers against bacteria, cysts and viruses. Plus Nature Pure systems excel at removing chemical and aesthetic contaminants including herbicides, pesticides, chlorine and foul taste, odors and colors, for great tasting water on demand. They now have a new filter system kit that is cheaper then the old style I have.
  14. Maybe they don't want to carry the extra weight that may cost MPG loss? Myself when traveling for 4-5 days to a destination I only hook up electric overnight. If site is fairly level I don't even put my jacks down. And never put the slide out. I use the Prest-O-Fit hose for the ease of adding length if needed and changing the ends. I don't know how many years I have used the present hose. But it is more then 5. I only use it during my 5 month summer travel. The other 7 months I use a 1" Macerator hose at my winter spot that is uphill. I find it is too slow dumping to use in the summer and doesn't get you the Whooooose like the slinky. But the Macerator hose has never needed replaced for over a decade.
  15. I went through 2 of those portable Ice Makers that make soft Ice that watered down drinks fast. For a few more $$ I put in a true Ice Maker that made Ice that stayed hard and I didn't have to keep adding water to it.
  16. I would guess my DP is considered a Motorized RV.. Strange that a HDT isn't considered as a Motorized RV. Or maybe coachnet doesn't tow the HDT only the 5th if broke down.
  17. I went to Coachnet web site and a ERS is $249 No other cheaper plan offered. What's up with that? Good Sam is $69.95 the first year and $117.95 after.
  18. I do all the maintenance myself that I can on my MH. In the 173 months or 14 years 4 months I have owned it from my spreadsheet the below cost is per month. Service Chassis Only $23.44 includes all fluids & filters for engine, transmission, rear end, front bearings, air brake system, grease for drive line and chassis. Repair & Replace Parts & Labor Chassis $34.73 2 alternator's, 8 batteries, headlights, level jack's motor, etc. Repair & Replace Parts & Labor Coach $74.84 includes 2 AC's, new couch, water heater etc. Tires $34.19 last set of G670's replaced after 10 years 4 months Above is $167.20 a month or $2,006.40 a year. Non of that include add on's that have been $115 a month. Like window awnings, Datastorm Internet dish 5K(I just took off and put in trash bin last week after 12 years), Trav'ler 2K, tire monitors, Macerator pump, cell phone booster, WiFiRanger, Banks Power Pack 3K, VMSpc, sewer/water hoses, 120V dog bones & extensions, many TV's added and replaced over the years, DirecTV receivers, sleep number bed, stand alone Ice maker, 2 Desktops, 3 laptops, iPad, 1.5 cu ft freezer, tow bars, base plates and many other things. OH!! Above doesn't include this winter's change of engine oil & filter plus fluids, generator oil & filter, fluid change in level jacks tank and air dryer filters change due. Above also does not include the $$$$'s deprecation of the MH over the years, registration fees, and insurance paid. As you can see, maintenance of a DP is just a small part of owning one. Did I say I love Full Time in my DP?
  19. Following a lack of Congressional approval, parts of the Patriot Act expired on June 1, 2015. With the passage of the USA Freedom Act on June 2, 2015, the expired parts were restored and renewed through 2019. The Patriot Act, as a whole, is still in effect. There are a lot of parts that are not controversial (or at least, not as controversial) and they will remain in place. However, certain provisions that give the NSA authority to spy on both Americans and foreigners were set to expire. Google Search "Patriot Act"
  20. Maybe not using a CC makes the difference in points. No CC to use you are loosing out on some of them with benefits that put cash back in your pocket. I use my Discovery Card to pay my supplemental RX part D, and cell phone every month for the 1% back. Then other things they give 5% back on that changes every 3 months.. Right now anything I order on Amazon gets that 5% back. And some 3 months a year that 5% is good for gas/diesel buys. Anything owed on the card every month is automatically paid from a bank account. Visa I have 2 cards. One with only 1% back pays my monthly Exede Internet and is carried(stored in safe) as a back up if my other main Visa card is lost or stolen. Main used card gives me year around 3% back on gas/diesel($3 diesel is 9¢ a gal discount) and every week 2% on all grocery's I buy then 1% back for everything else. All statements are paid off every month on both of them. Doing that probably gives me a higher FICO score. OH!! That score comes every month FREE with the Discovery statement. And last month Bank of America started to include the score in their monthly statements. I also have a couple Debit cards I use when I need some pocket cash to pay for some Passport America campgrounds. Walmarts are good for $100 or more when needed. Did you know most vehicle insurance company's use your FICO score to set what your cost is? Tips on How to Maintain A Good FICO Score Payment History TipsContributing 35% to a FICO Score calculation, this category has the greatest effect on improving your scores, but past problems like missed or late payments are not easily fixed. Pay your bills on time.Delinquent payments, even if only a few days late, and collections can have a major negative impact on your FICO Scores. If you have missed payments, get current and stay current. The longer you pay your bills on time after being late, the more your FICO Scores should increase. Older credit problems count for less, so poor credit performance won't haunt you forever. The impact of past credit problems on your FICO Scores fades as time passes and as recent good payment patterns show up on your credit report. And good FICO Scores weigh any credit problems against the positive information that says you're managing your credit well. Be aware that paying off a collection account will not remove it from your credit report. It will stay on your report for seven years. If you are having trouble making ends meet, contact your creditors or see a legitimate credit counselor. This won't rebuild your credit score immediately, but if you can begin to manage your credit and pay on time, your score should increase over time. And seeking assistance from a credit counseling service will not hurt your FICO Scores. Amounts Owed TipsThis category contributes 30% to a FICO Score's calculation and can be easier to clean up than payment history, but that requires financial discipline and understanding the tips below. Keep balances low on credit cards and other "revolving credit".High outstanding debt can affect a credit score. Pay off debt rather than moving it around. The most effective way to improve your credit scores in this area is by paying down your revolving (credit cards) debt. In fact, owing the same amount but having fewer open accounts may lower your scores. Don't close unused credit cards as a short-term strategy to raise your scores. Don't open a number of new credit cards that you don't need, just to increase your available credit. This approach could backfire and actually lower your credit scores. Length of Credit History Tips If you have been managing credit for a short time, don't open a lot of new accounts too rapidly.New accounts will lower your average account age, which will have a larger effect on your scores if you don't have a lot of other credit information. Also, rapid account buildup can look risky if you are a new credit user. New Credit Tips Do your rate shopping for a given loan within a focused period of time.FICO Scores distinguish between a search for a single loan and a search for many new credit lines, in part by the length of time over which inquiries occur. Re-establish your credit history if you have had problems.Opening new accounts responsibly and paying them off on time will raise your credit score in the long term. Note that it's OK to request and check your own credit report. This won't affect a score, as long as you order your credit report directly from the credit reporting agency or through an organization authorized to provide credit reports to consumers. Types of Credit Use Tips Apply for and open new credit accounts only as needed.Don't open accounts just to have a better credit mix – it probably won't raise your credit score. Have credit cards – but manage them responsibly. In general, having credit cards and installment loans (and paying timely payments) will rebuild your credit scores. Someone with no credit cards, for example, tends to be higher risk than someone who has managed credit cards responsibly. Note that closing an account doesn't make it go away.A closed account will still show up on your credit report, and may be considered by a score. To summarize, "fixing" a credit score is more about fixing errors in your credit history (if they exist) and then following the guidelines above to maintain consistent, good credit history. Raising your scores after a poor mark on your report or building credit for the first time will take patience and discipline.
  21. Full Time 17 years with no problem. Keep your FICO score in the 800's and they are glad to give you a loan. 2 years ago got a 5 year 0% interest on my toad. Still getting some interest on the CD that I was going to use for a cash payment.
  22. I have had a Wilson DT4G(home office) $367.69 for 1 1/2 years now. It has the rectangle outside antenna that I mounted on my Batwing braces. I really wanted to get a Max AMP but they wasn't available at the time. And would be much more $$$ It has always given some boost at most places. Where i am now it is really not needed. Inside the MH with boost on I get a -99 and outside away from the MH a -108 on my iPhone 6 Plus on Sprint.
  23. 16 years average of single Full Time $28,942.83 a year. That is what my Quicken says Kirk said not to include in that amount the $86,000 paid cash for 2nd MH, $18,000 HHR toad(cash) or present $48K(cash) toad. But all those are included in the $28K. Take above vehicles out, then my average for 16 years would be $20,556 a year. Which includes 7 months a year every year of no campground fees.
  24. You only have to use the license for the next 8 Years. Then you can renew it on line. My next FL. renewal is in 2020. I have never had anyone use the address on my license for a ID that I know of. Most medical places do make a copy of it along with Medicare card & supplemental Insurance card. Or some stores when using my Debit/CC ask to see it for ID to match name/picture to CC.
