  1. I remember the whole ordeal of getting Buck, lol. you guys sure have been making a lot of changes. I knew about you selling the Alpine, but missed the selling of the lake house somehow. we still travel much of the year and hunker down at the house in Havasu for a few months in the winter.
  2. I haven't posted either but i still get notifications.😀 As you know, Jeri, Facebook is the way most of us communicate. It seems easier and more user friendly. We are still in touch with a lot of the people we met back in the day and see them whenever we pass by each other. Many of them are no longer full timing, and some have given up RVing completely for various reasons, mostly age related.
  3. Mike and Julie now have two rigs, and don't tow anymore. Dave and Nancy are selling their MH, and Steve and Carol have a place in yuma and a small RV they take to Washington in the summers. we now have two rigs, and decide which to use based on what we are going to be doing. Oh, and a house In Havasu, but we come and go often. Headed to Q and then down by Bisbe, Ajo and Patagonia for a month. i had no idea Toni died! So sad for Doug, he is a nice guy. Jim Dixon also died, and Sandie lives outside Phoenix now. yep we are getting old đŸ‘”đŸŒ
  4. Some states will only let you delay, up to a year, and sometimes let you pick the day...but you can't get out of it. my daughter was living in Indiana at college and got a summons from MI, her home state. She didn't own a car and was too young to rent one. The court would only let her delay, not get excused. I had to fly to Indiana and drive her up to Michigan so she could serve. dumb.
  5. I think what she is saying is that the SIM card needs to be signed for? Therefore it can’t just be delivered
..but if they use Escapees, Escapees will sign for it if it’s delivered to them
  6. Whereabouts in AZ? We spent one summer in Havasu while we built the house.....our conclusion? “Never Again” . Most places aren’t as hot as Havasu tho. I think most of us are not on the road much anymore, hence the lack of posts. Enjoy the new place!
  7. Mohave county in AZ just south of there says ANYONE can be vaccinated if you are in the correct “group” and that if you are a snow bird or temporary resident, save your paperwork because the second dose needs to be from the same company as the first.
  8. Many of us are in touch via Facebook. Not that I love it but it’s easier than the forum, more immediate . we usually spend the winter in Lake Havasu, so hit us up if you head that way ....
  9. We have the Mopeka sensors for ALL our propane tanks. our friends have now gotten them too. It’s an app on your phone, you can see exactly how much propane you have in all your tanks. https://mopeka.com/
  10. I spoke to a campground host there and she said it’s a big deal to get their rig in.....they close the road and have an escort etc. they have to commit to a certain amount of time.
  11. Might be different dealers in AZ do things differently, so not sure what the law is. we bought our truck in AZ last month, drove to CA to complete paperwork to avoid AZ tax, got an AZ temp plate and sent off all the paperwork to Polk County for registration in TX. A few weeks later we had our new plate. you DON’T have to go to Texas “within the next year” to get an inspection. Every year when you re-register your vehicle they will ask you if the vehicle is outside of TX. If the answer is yes, that’s it. No need to get the inspection until you are physically in the state. When we are headed to TX I save the receipts for the last few RV parks outside the state , so I can show I just arrived.
  12. We are having a very quiet Thanksgiving. No visiting, no family. what’s that saying? “We isolate now so that no one is missing, next year” Christmas will also be quiet, with just my daughter coming, although we will have two long term yard guests for most of the winter, so we won’t be lonely 😀
  13. When we were full time we lived in a 5th wheel, but we have owned two truck campers- an older Lance, and our newish Arctic Fox(1150). We spend as much as 5 months at a time in our TC. Both of our TC have a slide, and both are fully usable with the slide in. Opening it just gives us more floor space. Planning meals with a small fridge requires a little thought. For example, the summer we spent In Alaska, I planned at least two weeks worth of meals and bought the supplies when we went to the store. We ate the food in the order that it would spoil. We looked at Host (Mammoth) and decided against them mainly because in order to use it, you HAD to open the slides. Our Fox is heavy ( but actually lighter than our Lance was, and lighter than a Host) but it now sits on a 2020 truck, and the difference is mind blowing. Very little sway, and the truck barely knows it is there. when we travel, it’s always a debate.....take the trailer or TC, and usually the TC wins. It’s just hard to give up that ease of travel for the comfort of recliners. Turning on the microwave to heat up lunch can’t be beat, and the biggest shock when we first had it has been mentioned.... we went to Yosemite and it didn’t matter that we only had one night in each campsite, we simply parked the rig at whatever trailhead we wanted to hike, then moved it at the end of the day. No more days lost to travel. Pretty cool.
  14. Actually Linda, many states, including Texas, accept an electronic insurance ID card ie....I can have my Progressive App and that’s all I need.
  15. Ahh, thanks Kirk. I felt a bit like an idiot because I suggested to someone on a FB page that Escapees might be a good fit for them and they came back and said I don’t think so, their website doesn’t work. Then someone asked if they went out of business.... boy things can get out of hand fast!!
  16. Not sure where to put this... anyone else having issues getting to escapees.com? thanks
  17. We are in Montana, headed to ND and SD before meandering back to Havasu, early October 😀
  18. We fulltimed for 7 years, but hubby is project oriented and pretty much started breaking things in the RV so he could fix them. He wanted his “stuff” (tools) back. So, we built a house with 3 full hook up spots for friends, and spend winters entertaining. In the summer we take off, either in our 5th wheel or our truck camper, depending on our destination. if it was just my choice I would still be a fulltiming but both people have to want it, to make it work. So, we travel whenever we want. Our biggest stipulation when we built the house was that we agreed that we wouldn’t be tied to it, but would feel free to travel and leave it as much as we wanted. And we do.
  19. Well, we see most of you on Facebook.... Paul and I bug out of Havasu next week for the summer. We have 2 days of reservations, the rest.......?
  20. I get around that by having my son, located in Boston, have the account, making Boston my home area, so I can watch the Patriots on my home Tv(one that has no location services) all season long. I can not, however, watch the games on my iPad unless the game is being shown on local stations. Apparently there are apps that will fake a GPS location but I haven’t gone that far yet
  21. the location of your device determines what you can watch
  22. Youtube TV comes with unlimited DVR capability. It comes in very handy!
  23. I believe that is incorrect, setting channels to any locality. I have had Youtube TV for quite a while, and it always uses the location of my device to give me the local channels from that area. When I watch on my TV that has no location service, it requires me to log in to my account from my “home area” every 2-3 months in order for me to watch anything. 3 devices can be on at the same time. i use it on my home TV to watch the Patriots play, but can't watch them on my ipad unless its being shown on local TV.
